PUENTE Learning Center provides high-quality education for children, youth, and adult students in Boyle Heights and beyond.

Building bridges to opportunity since 1985. We offer preschool, charter elementary school, college and career programs, adult education, community services, and much more. Our mission is embodied in our name, PUENTE, which stands for People United to Enrich the Neighborhood Through Education.

PUENTE Learning Center is honored to announce a $1 million gift from the Helen and Will Webster Foundation to fund major improvements across the PUENTE campus. This transformational gift will help ensure that future generations continue to learn, grow, and thrive at a campus designed to inspire possibility. 💫

The gift will support a re-imagined schoolyard, a refurbished parking lot, as well as enhanced campus fencing and security to create a safer, more beautiful, and more welcoming environment for everyone who walks through PUENTE’s doors.💙

We kicked off the school year with Building Bridges to Wellness! 🌿💧

Families and community members came together to connect with resources, enjoy hands-on activities, and learn about ways to support their well-being throughout the school year.

Attendees visited our hydration station, created personalized journals, explored garden activities, and planted microgreens to take home. 🌱 They also connected with teachers, enjoyed delicious yogurt from Sol y Spoon, won prizes, and took home custom artwork by Pavel Acevedo. 🎨

We’re grateful to our sponsors, donors, partners, and volunteers who helped make this event possible and created a welcoming space for our community to come together, connect, and start the school year strong. 💙

This past week, our staff members attended the UnidosUS Annual Conference, where they connected with leaders from across the country and explored new ideas, resources, and best practices. We're excited to bring back what they learned to help strengthen the support and opportunities we provide to the students and families we serve.

As we begin a new fiscal year, we're proud to celebrate new leadership on the PUENTE Learning Center Board of Directors.

Congratulations to Dana Ontiveros, Attorney at Snell & Wilmer LLP, on her election as Board Chair! We also recognize our new Board Officers: Gil Ortega as Vice Chair, Agustin Urgiles as Treasurer, and Lindsey Rostal as Secretary.

We're also excited to welcome Anabel Santamaria, U.S. Community Relations Market Manager, Citi, as the newest member of our Board of Directors. We look forward to the leadership, experience, and passion both Dana and Anabel will bring as we continue building pathways to education, opportunity, and a stronger community. 💙

Last week, PUENTE held its yearly job fair. 🎉💼Attendees had the opportunity to connect with employers, explore a variety of career pathways, and learn about resources to support their professional goals. Events like these help open doors to new possibilities, spark meaningful conversations, and build valuable connections. 🤝
