The Association of Regional Center Agencies (ARCA) is reaching out to request your support for SB 422 (Grayson) California Workforce Development Board: developmental services. This bill directs the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) to analyze the factors contributing to the workforce shortage in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. By reviewing expert research and evaluating proposed solutions, the CWDB can recommend policy actions to address this crisis.

ARCA - Association of Regional Center Agencies is deeply committed to ensuring a robust service network for Californians with developmental disabilities and their families. However, California is currently facing significant challenges in access to care for individuals with developmental disabilities due to a substantial workforce shortage. SB 422 aims to develop actionable strategies to alleviate workforce shortages in California’s developmental services system. By engaging a diverse array of stakeholders and leveraging the expertise of the California Department of Developmental Services, the bill seeks to create a comprehensive plan to ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities receive the support they need.
We urge you to show your support for SB 422 by submitting a letter of support to the Senate Labor, Public Employment & Retirement Committee through the advocacy portal linked here by Wednesday, March 19, 2025: https://calegislation.lc.ca.gov/Advocates/
