As we continue celebrating Latin Heritage Month, our K–2 students are exploring music from around the world. This week, Ms. McDonough is introducing them to “Ola de la Mar,” a plena song. Plena is a vibrant urban musical genre that originated in the coastal regions of Puerto Rico, known for its storytelling and rhythmic energy.

REMINDER NO SCHOOL MONDAY.
As we observe indigenous peoples day, our 8th graders are working hard on their Tonga projects! They are honoring the people who lives on our land before us by drawing their most sacred tree: El Aliso.
