🚦 Safety First: No Right Turn on Red Arrows 🚦

To protect pedestrians & improve traffic flow, the City has added adaptive No Right Turn on Red Arrows at various intersections. These arrows only activate when necessary, like during pedestrian crossings or busy times. Sandbags are available to Arcadia residents at Fire Station 107(79 W. Orange Grove Ave.). In preparation of the anticipated rainy season, the Arcadia Public Works Services Department will be placing water- walls and/or k-rails in portions of Arcadia.

Homes that were impacted by the recent fire that are concerned about mudflow into their property can contact the Public Works Services Department at(626) 254-2720 for more information.

If your home is in the impacted fire zone,
can assist with providing recommendations to protect against mud and debris flow.

Red Flag Warning, Stay Prepared
A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Arcadia and surrounding areas until Wednesday, at 6 p.m., due to Santa Ana winds and low humidity. Homes north of Elkins Avenue (Zone 1) remain on Evacuation Warning. Residents are strongly encouraged to stay prepared. Have a go-bag packed with essentials such as food, water, medication, key insurance documents, passwords to essential online accounts, and other necessary items for family members and pets. If you are not in an Evacuation Warning area, secure outdoor items, close windows and doors tightly, and stay indoors, avoiding unnecessary travel during peak wind gusts.

Arcadia City Council Ratified Local Emergency
On Monday, January 13, the Arcadia City Council convened a special meeting to ratify the local emergency. During the meeting, the City Manager and Department Directors presented a detailed report outlining the timeline of events, major response efforts, and the next steps planned for the coming weeks. GoFundMe and FEMA Reimbursements
The Arcadia community is known for its generosity. Many residents are just one degree away from someone who has been devastatingly impacted by the fires. If you choose to donate, please ensure that it’s a reputable source and remain vigilant to avoid fraudulent schemes.

It‘s important to note that donations made through GoFundMe will not affect a survivor’s eligibility for FEMA assistance, provided the fundraiser serves broad purposes. For example, a campaign titled ”Help to Recover After a Fire“ would not interfere with FEMA eligibility. However, a GoFundMe aimed at replacing a specific item, such as a car, and then requesting FEMA assistance for the same purpose would result in ineligibility for that item, due to duplication of benefits.

FIRE EVACUATION LIFTED - NORTH OF ELKINS AVE

EATON FIRE UPDATE - Published January 13, 2025 - 4:05PM

All Evacuation Orders Lifted
As of Sunday afternoon, January 12, all evacuation orders were lifted for the City of Arcadia. Homes north of Elkins Avenue (Zone 1) remain on Evacuation Warning. Arcadia Police are regularly patrolling the affected area to deter any negative activity.

Debris Clean-Up Continues
Public Works Services continues to clear debris from streets, roadways, parks, and other public areas. Due to the extensive amount of debris, we anticipate the cleanup process will take approximately two to three weeks to complete.

If you notice a City tree that appears to be leaning or structurally unsound in any way, please call Public Works Services at (626) 254-2720, and a crew member will respond to inspect the tree. If you are unsure if it is a City tree or a private tree, call the number listed above and City staff will advise.

If a protected tree must be removed for safety purposes, property owners must have a certified Arborist document with photos and written evidence on the condition of the tree requiring removal. Documentation should be provided to Planning Services at [email protected]. If the tree poses an immediate threat, please call the Planning Division at (626) 574-5423 or the Code Services Division at (626) 574-5432. No City permits will be required for dangerous tree removals as a result of the January 2025 windstorm.

Please note that weather events are typically considered an ‘Act of God’ and are unlikely to be reimbursable. Disaster Assistance
FEMA will be available at Live Oak Library, today, until 5 p.m. to help residents impacted by the wildfires. The LA County’s Live Oak Library is located at 22 W Live Oak Ave, Arcadia, CA 91007. Donation Center at Santa Anita Park
The pop-up donation center has been relocated from the Rose Bowl to Santa Anita Park, operating from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Those who would like to donate are asked to use Gate 3 (off Huntington Drive) and follow the instructions from organizers on where to donate.

The area surrounding Santa Anita Park is experiencing congestion and traffic signal timing is being adjusted to accommodate the high-volume. Please exercise caution when navigating this area and prepare for sudden stops.

Highs Winds to Return through Wednesday, Prepare Now

Mild winds have helped slow the fire‘s growth, allowing firefighters to make progress on the Eaton Fire. However, the National Weather Service forecasts winds will be returning Saturday evening into Sunday, with gusts of 35-50 mph over Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Stronger winds are expected Monday through Wednesday, peaking Tuesday with gusts of 40-60 mph.
