Loads of ideas here at the table, right?
But what I imagined L-BAR to inhabit was a place where we could come together and have fulfilling and sometimes difficult conversation. I wanted to have a “State of Lesbian” conference next year in L-BAR! How grand! Or tired.
Even so, the idea behind it and why I made L-BAR came from a longing to find each other at the le***an bars of the bygone. Where for most q***rs it was the only place to find people like you. I wanted to meet each other there—surely meaningful conversation would ensue around that.
Ah well.
L-BAR shuts down December 31st, I’m having closing events until then.
The next event is a coming together around Q***r Family Gratitude Day.
Nov 23, 2022. This holiday I feel should exist. And it does in inside L-BAR.
A celebration of chosen family—and we fight, and we scratch, we disagree at times on just about everything! We might not speak for years! But my q***r family always has my back.
Let’s gather and meet our family, or make new family, new conversations—new ties, around the table.
