As we begin a new year, I'd like to take a moment to say how grateful I am to everyone who has supported my nonprofit Good Tutors - as a donor, a tutor, a partner organization or as a friend. Thanks to your support, we’re having a measurable impact on improving the academic & social emotional outcomes for so many underserved K-12 students and their families in Los Angeles.
With 600 students at the moment and 600 tutors, we get to know every student, every family and every tutor. I hear stories daily like 3rd graders who could barely read when they started at Good Tutors that have learned to read and gain confidence in all subjects to high school students who we helped with their essays and have been accepted to colleges. We are making a real difference!
If you know someone who aligns with our mission, I'd appreciate it if you could forward them this message. There are HUNDREDS of students on our waitlist. We could use:
referrals to people who would make good tutors (from high school students to senior citizens)
introductions to employers who can offer Good Tutors as a service opportunity for their employees (e.g. Disney has us in their VoluntEARS program)
donations to increase our capacity to serve more children (we were just granted 501(c)(3) status, so donations are tax deductible)
