Jin Qi is working with PhD student Zhuonan Wang on a cable-driven soft body robot inspired by fish movement. The goal is to better understand how soft materials can be actuated to create fluid, biomimetic motion in underwater environments. (Jin Qi 2/3)

She’s developed an automatic differentiation pipeline connecting JAX, TensorFlow, and C++ to compute gradients and Hessians for energy modeling and contact detection. Next up: deploying these tools in the C++ simulator for benchmarking across robotics and graphics applications. (Jinying 3/3)

Jinying is working with PhD student Esther Gérard on the DisMech project, which develops high-accuracy simulation tools for modeling elastic rods and deformable bodies. Her current focus: building fast, differentiable pipelines to make physics-based simulations more computationally efficient. (Jinying 2/3)

To align stereo and LiDAR data, Anirudh is developing a sensor calibration system. By using real-world markers, he determines the rotation and translation needed for accurate mapping between camera and LiDAR frames - enabling more precise 3D scene reconstruction. (Anirudh 3/3)

Anirudh is working with Shivam Kumar Panda and Yongkyu Lee to construct a dataset of 3D depth maps of agricultural environments. Using LiDAR and stereo cameras, he’s building real-time and post-collection processing pipelines to extract rich spatial data from complex farm scenes. (Anirudh 2/3)
