You may have seen the recent headlines regarding "Sephora Kids" and the risks of complex skincare routines for young teens. At the USC Rossier Center for Education, Identity, and Social Justice, we believe in meeting students where their interests are—and turning those interests into a foundation for scientific inquiry.

Glow Lab: Cosmetic Science & Innovation is one of the two specialized tracks offered this summer at our SEEDS Summer Camp. This track isn't just about beauty products; it’s a research-backed curriculum designed by USC faculty to help students in Grades 5–8 build a "STEM Identity."

Inside the Glow Lab track, students will:

Demystify Chemistry: Move beyond viral trends to understand the actual science and safety of product formulations.

Conduct Hands-On Labs: Use professional-grade inquiry to create and test their own innovations.

Work with USC Mentors: Collaborate with university mentors to see themselves as the next generation of scientists.

SEEDS Summer Camp kicks off on June 15 at Pilgrim School. Whether your student is interested in the chemistry of the Glow Lab or the physics of our Sports Scholars track, our goal is to empower them with the confidence to say, "I can do science."
