Yesterday, my husband asked me to make scallops for dinner. I had only cooked them once before, so it felt like a bit of a challenge. Scallops are dainty; they need to be carefully cleaned, thoroughly dried, and quickly seared to keep them tender and not rubbery. I paired them with pasta in a light lemon and white wine butter sauce, and we enjoyed it all with a refreshing sangria on the side.

Ontem, meu esposo me pediu para preparar vieiras para o jantar. Eu só tinha feito uma vez antes, então foi um certo desafio. As vieiras são delicadas; precisam ser bem limpas, secas e seladas rapidamente para ficarem macias e não borrachudas. Acompanhei com uma massa ao molho leve de manteiga, limão e vinho branco, e servimos tudo com uma refrescante sangria.

Last Friday, my husband and I had a great time reconnecting and enjoying dinner with these dear old friends.

Last night, we enjoyed one of our favorite meals: perfectly grilled salmon, fluffy Brazilian-style rice, and sautéed asparagus with portobello mushrooms, paired with a refreshing glass of sangria.

Ontem à noite, saboreamos uma das nossas refeições favoritas: salmão grelhado, arroz à brasileira, aspargos refogados com cogumelos portobello, com o acompanhamento de uma refrescante sangria.
