💡 How to stop being Nervous while Speaking in Public?

A simple and easy way to control nervousness while presenting, or speaking in public is to turn nervousness into excitement. 🤩

But, how do you do that exactly? 🤔

✅ Acknowledge that you are nervous.

If you need to say it out loud during the presentation, then do it. “I’m going to be honest but I am a little nervous standing up in front of you today”.

✅ Remember why you are here.

Remind yourself what you are doing here in the first place? “I am here because I have an important message to deliver which will benefit my audience tremendously”.

✅ Think about the message you are delivering.

When you recall your message and the value it brings, you will feel excitement come back into your body. That will push away the nervousness and allow you to get back into a more clear headspace

✨Feeling nervous is very normal during a time like this, learning to channel and convert this emotion to excitement is one of the best ways to overcome nervousness during Public Speaking.

“Every time you have to speak, you are auditioning for Leadership.” - James Humes

This one really hit me hard. My entire life I had no idea how important speaking up especially when necessary was. I also had no idea that it could potentially change the direction of my life, for the better 😊

Being a great Public Speaker has helped me tremendously in getting the jobs I wanted, getting the promotions I was after and generally having people listen to me when I spoke 🔥

It was much later in life that I realized that being a great speaker had landed me everything I ever wanted. This to me is leadership.

If you have every other skill that a leader posses, but you are not a great Public Speaker, then you are harming your own success.
