Warriors, the date is set and the time is closing in!
BUILDing Youthful Warriors is just over three weeks away, and we are calling on every parent, guardian, mentor, and community member with a young person in their life to step up and get them registered.
This program is an introduction to PCITI Level 1, designed for young people ages 12 through 27 who are ready to develop the discipline, the leadership, and the awareness this work demands. Grounded in community violence intervention and prevention, it puts the tools, the structure, and the training in the hands of the next generation so they can take the lead on what belongs to them.
The next 10, 15 years of this society will be defined by the youth standing up right now. The question is whether the young person in your life is going to be in the room when the foundation gets laid.

Warriors! We are currently in Newark, New Jersey, conducting a Level 2 PCITI Refresher Training with our Core Partners at NCST.
This training is designed to strengthen skills, reinforce methodology, and prepare practitioners for Level 3 and Train-the-Trainer certification.
Our mission is simple: equip the community with the tools, knowledge, and leadership needed to carry this work forward. This work is bigger than any one of us. It is about building capacity, developing the next generation of leaders, and ensuring communities have the skills to create lasting change.
Knowledge is meant to be shared, not taken to the grave. We have a responsibility to pour into others, build successors, and prepare those willing to continue the mission.
One Mission. One Standard. One Community.

Warriors,
BUILD-PCITI recently hosted partners from Montgomery County, Maryland for a two-day strategic planning and immersive learning experience in Los Angeles!
Our partners and executive leadership engaged in classroom instruction and real-world field exposure to the BUILD-PCITI methodology, grounded in observation, assessment, relationship building, and disciplined intervention practices.
The strategic planning session focused on strengthening Montgomery County's capacity to address community violence and public safety challenges through a structured, sustainable approach, covering CVI best practices, multi-agency collaboration, community engagement, local leadership development, and data-informed decision making.
The landscape analysis and community assessment took our participants into Los Angeles communities to observe firsthand the realities, the challenges, and the assets that exist within neighborhoods impacted by violence and trauma. Effective intervention begins with understanding the environment.
Real work is getting done by real leaders who are genuinely committed to building safer, healthier communities back home. Salute to our Montgomery County partners for traveling out, putting in the work, and carrying these tools back to their city.

WARRIORS AT WORK |
Warriors, BUILD-PCITI was recently back in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a city where we have done this work for nearly a decade, and our warriors came back to complete Train the Trainer Level 2!
From May 18 through 20, BUILD-PCITI delivered an intensive Train the Trainer Level 2 engagement, bringing together practitioners who had already completed the foundational PCITI methodology and returned to sharpen their facilitation, refine their leadership, and grow into the ones who carry this work forward and teach it to others.
This training does not sit you in a seat to talk at you. You are fully immersed in the skill sets, the protocols, and the refinement of your operational movement and your mental thinking. It is hard-core, intense, structured, and grinding, because that is what it takes to be forged as one of the best in this work of CVI and community-based public safety.
Salute to the elite practitioners who returned, put in the work, and continue to carry the legacy and the methodology forward:

💪🏽 WARRIORS AT WORK |
Warriors, BUILD-PCITI was recently in Norfolk, Virginia working alongside a dedicated group of community practitioners committed to the safety of their city!
From May 11 through 13, BUILD-PCITI, along with our comrades from the CBPS Collective | Community Based Public Safety Collective, delivered PCITI Level 1 training to the City of Norfolk.
These practitioners were thrown into real-life engagements and put under constructive pressure to test and master what they were taught, training in crisis response and de-escalation, trauma-informed practice, intervention strategy, and scenario-based hands-on engagement that reflects the situations they will actually face on the street. The concepts were learned, talked through, walked through, and ran through.
Real work is getting done by real people who are genuinely committed to the cause of community safety and community ownership. These warriors put their skill sets and protocols in place, and they are on track to receive their PCITI Level 1 Certification.
Salute to all the participants from Norfolk, Virginia who showed up, stayed disciplined, and put in the work. We are honored to have worked alongside you, and we look forward to the continued partnership.
