Marlton School is hiring!
Two positions available
(Third/Fourth Grade Core Teacher of the Deaf & Secondary Science/Math/PE Core Teacher of the Deaf)
Required Qualifications
1) Possession of, or eligibility for a California Standard Teaching Credential authorizing the holder to teach Deaf students:
2) Proficiency in American Sign Language;
3) Good command of written English;
4) Strong cultural perspective of the Deaf;
5) Education and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: experience working with students from a diverse background; bilingual education, team teaching, transition, project-based instruction
Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each applicant’s relative abilities as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, an emphasis in the hiring interview will be on measuring, relative to job demands:
• Knowledge of subject matter
• Competence with a variety of instructional strategies
• Ability to use technology effectively to support instruction
• Planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Personal and professional judgment
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the community
