Young Professionals Summit – HOPE 08/21/2024

Registration for HOPE’s 9th annual Young Professionals Summit is now open. The summit will take place at The Grand Central Air Terminal 1310 Air Way, Glendale, CA 91201, on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM.

As you may know, the annual Summit is a one-day professional and leadership development conference that brings together Latinas ages 18-26 to fortify their leadership, and gain professional skills necessary to build successful careers, all while developing a supportive network of Latina peers and mentors.

I ask that you please share this opportunity with students and young Latinas in your network that you know can benefit from this programming. You can also support us by reposting our content about the summit from any of HOPE’s social media .

Iconic L.A. Muralist and Activist

Internationally renowned Chicana muralist, public intellectual, and community activist Judy Baca is coming to USC!

The legendary L.A. artist will discuss her life and creative process, the transformative power of art and community engagement, and continuing work on the iconic, half-mile-long Great Wall of Los Angeles, which has involved more than 400 youth, artists, oral historians, and community members so far. Baca and artists from the Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) are currently painting new sections of the mural as part of an exhibition and live studio installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

The talk will be preceded by a screening of Mur Murs, Agnès Varda’s acclaimed documentary about the murals and visual landscape of Los Angeles in the early 1980s, when Baca was creating the Great Wall.
