I hope you’re enjoying the first day of a new year! A symbolic new beginning, filled with hope for what’s to come. May it bring you good health, pure joy, and unconditional love.
A few questions I’m pondering today, to try to enter a fulfilling 2022:
- What did I learn in 2021 that I want to take with me into 2022?
- What did I discover in 2021 that I do not want to extend into 2022?
- How can I be more compassionate toward myself and others?
- What am I curious about and want to learn in 2022?
- Who and what am I grateful for and want to prioritize in 2022?
How are you starting off the new year?
P.S. If today is not your day to start something new, fret not. EVERY day is a new beginning. And each breath is an opportunity to start anew.

Holidays can be wonderful AND they can be challenging. Here are some tips on how to survive the season, and possibly even thrive. A lot of them may be quite obvious. The important thing is to implement them as much as possible.
What else can you do to get through (and maybe even enjoy) the season?

Change your habits, change your life.
It may not always be easy to develop better habits, but it CAN be simple. And it's always worth it.
For simple tips on better habits, check out a free 30-minute class I'm teaching for Greater Los Angeles Realtors Association on Tuesday 10/26 at 1 pm PDT (link in bio and below). And as always, reach out with any questions!
P.S. Here I am working on the habit of spending more time in nature 😊🌲🌼🌴

I talk about emotions a lot to anyone who will listen, perhaps because I feel things so deeply (like a lot of us!). Here’s a quick reminder about a better way of dealing with painful emotions. I use the RAIN tool a lot whenever I feel sad, anxious, or angry.
A few things to keep in mind: 1. All emotions are valid, and all want to be acknowledged. 2. Naming an emotion makes it easier to process it. 3. Fighting a difficult emotion or hiding from it will make it stronger – because it wants to be heard! 4. Emotions are represented by physical sensations – paying attention to the body helps us realize we simply feel an emotion (as opposed to being fused with, or overcome by, the emotion). 5. Never judge yourself for feeling a certain way – feeling all the things is part of the human condition. 6. Remain curious about your experience and be kind to yourself, always.

Trouble sleeping? Check out this article I wrote for California Lawyers Association describing some of the changes I've made to my habits and routines, and how they've helped with my insomnia. Maybe they will help you, too. Fingers crossed!
Feel free to reach out to me for any other tips on sleep habits and general wellbeing.

Today is "Be Kind to Lawyers Day"! I'm celebrating each and every one of my fellow attorney friends and colleagues, today and every day.
Quite apropos, also a bit of shameless self-promotion. My article about the benefits of gratitude was published in the California Lawyers Association online newsletter. I invite you to read it when you can (if you haven't already):

First off, I've missed everyone! So sorry for being MIA... 🙇♀️
Secondly - were you aware that April is Stress Awareness Month? Neither was I 😬 (Shoutout to Steve for alerting me to this!) I put something together about what stress is, how it affects us, and what we can do to manage it better. Give it a read when you can! 🙏
