Writer, .sara's journey as a previvor is a testament to the power of proactivity and self-advocacy in women's health. 🌟

In her interview with the-seam.com, she recalls that pivotal moment when curiosity and determination led her to discover her BRCA2 gene mutation. It all began with a family history of breast and ovarian cancer—her dad's cousin's tragic battle and her passing away due to ovarian cancer, both attributed to the BRCA2 mutation. Sara's curiosity sparked as she found herself tumbling down the Reddit rabbit hole. She stumbled upon a community of individuals sharing insights on how to access their 23andMe raw data and analyze it further through another website.

It was 2:00 in the morning when Sara took that life-altering step. Armed with the knowledge she sought, the result came back: BRCA2 positive. 🧬 This revelation opened the door to a profound chapter in her life.

While we can't advocate for digging into your genetics without the guidance of a genetic counselor to help interpret the data, we are blown away by this story and .sara's tenacity. Her next steps after receiving this news was to go see a professional genetic counselor to help her determine her overall risk and plan her path forward. She is an inspiration.
