LAS Family! Don’t miss this production of “Guards at the Taj” by Rajiv Joseph. Starring our faculty member Behzad Dabu and previous LAS student Kausar Mohammed. We’re partnering with “Guards at the Taj,” a critically acclaimed two-hander by Rajiv Joseph, this February 6 - 22, 2026.

Set centuries ago, yet piercingly relevant today, “Guards at the Taj” follows two low-ranking imperial guards stationed outside the Taj Mahal before its grand unveiling. An impossible task tests their lifelong friendship, shakes their faith, and shatters their lives forever. This darkly funny and deeply moving play asks us: follow duty or follow beauty?

Behzad Dabu (How to Get Away with Murder, The Chi, Disgraced) and Kausar Mohammed (Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, Mo, The Flash), are multi-hyphenate artists deeply embedded in LA’s theatre, film, and comedy communities. Behzad directs and stars as Babur; Kausar makes history as the first woman to play Humayun in a professional production of the play.

We’re honored to welcome Emmy-nominated actress Karen Pittman to The Last Acting Studio for a special masterclass edition of The Rehearsal Room.

In this four-week session, Pittman opens her rehearsal practice—inviting actors and auditors into how she works: interrogating text, tracking behavior, testing impulses, and allowing scenes to evolve through pressure and adjustment. The focus is not on explanation, but on doing.

Curated and hosted by Desean K. Terry, The Rehearsal Room is not a traditional acting class. It is rehearsal as a professional tool.

Working actor slots are limited and offered by application. Auditing is a full and intentional way to engage with the work.
