Tirzepatide vs. Retatrutide — what research actually shows. And which one might surprise you.

These are two of the most researched compounds in metabolic health right now. But the conversation around them is full of myths, hype, and missing context.

So let’s talk about what the research actually says.

Tirzepatide is a dual GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist. FDA approved. Extensive clinical trial data. The SURPASS trials showed significant outcomes across metabolic health markers.

Retatrutide is a triple agonist — GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon. Currently in Phase 3 clinical trials. Not yet FDA approved. The TRIUMPH-1 Phase 2 data produced outcomes that made the research community pay very close attention.

The difference that matters: that third receptor.

Glucagon signaling may support increased energy expenditure — meaning the body burns more, not just takes in less. That’s a meaningfully different metabolic mechanism than dual agonism alone.

But more receptors doesn’t automatically mean better results for everyone. Side effect profiles differ. Individual response varies enormously. And neither compound works optimally without the right foundation in place.

Protein. Resistance training. Gut health. Nutrient status. Titration pace.

The research is consistent on this: the compound is only part of the outcome.

Swipe through for the full breakdown — mechanisms, myths, side effect profiles, and what research suggests about which one may be right for different goals.

⚠️ Educational purposes only. Both compounds require physician oversight. Retatrutide is not FDA approved and is currently in clinical trials. Individual results vary. This is not medical advice.

I threw away my alcohol swabs and never looked back.

If you use any kind of injection-based therapy under physician care — this is the upgrade you didn’t know you needed.

Hypochlorous acid is the molecule your white blood cells already produce to heal your body. Active Skin Repair took the same medical-grade formula used in hospitals and made it available over the counter.

The facts that stopped me in my tracks:
Same safety profile as saline solution. 100x more powerful than bleach. Safe enough to spray directly in your eyes. And unlike alcohol — it’s selective. It kills bad bacteria without disrupting your skin’s microbiome or throwing off your pH.

Your skin actually gets healthier the more you use it.

I use the spray before and after. The hydrogel for anything more targeted — redness, irritation, post-procedure skin.

Justin Garner (founder) came on the Ageless Blonde podcast this week and broke down exactly how this works at the cellular level. It’s one of my favorite episodes yet.
