A wonderful start to the Art Docent year!

Our annual Los Altos Art Docents Fall Seminar was the perfect way to kick off another year of creativity, learning and community! ❤️🎨

We started the morning with updates from Kimberly Dickerson and an introduction to this year’s theme from our new president, Meenakshi Mira Sharma

We were also thrilled to welcome local artist Renee Billingslea as our keynote speaker. Renee’s artistic practice combines photography, stitching and object-making to explore historical stories, social issues and perspectives in American history. Her presentation gave us plenty to think about and inspired some wonderful hands-on creativity!

And, of course, no LAAD gathering is complete without a little time to create, connect, share a meal and catch up with friends.

You don’t need to be an artist to be an amazing Art Docent for our district’s elementary students. Just bring your enthusiasm, a love of art, and a passion for working with kids!

Los Altos Art Docents helps children explore art through appreciation & participation, bringing engaging, hands-on art experiences into elementary classrooms across the Los Altos School District.

To celebrate our country’s 250th Anniversary, Gallery 9 of Los Altos invites all LASD students to apply to be included in the Red, White, and Blue Art Exhibition for June. 

    •    Students may submit photos of their 2-D art that follows the “Red, White, and Blue” theme.  No entries will be accepted after May 18th.
    •    You will be notified by email if the artwork has been accepted. 
    •    Accepted works must be dropped off at the Art Docent Office at the Los Altos School District by May 26th. Artwork that is accepted into the show will be returned via mail after June 30th.
