“Why don’t trees blow down in the wind?” That big question sparked some serious PBL magic in 1st grade! Mrs. DeCarlo started the season strong by giving her students some real-world challenges! 8th graders worked together to engineer solutions to rescue lost pets from a storm drain while 7th grade had to create flood shelters to save stranded pets!

At St. Simon, our mission to inspire lives of service starts with hands-on practice! In partnership with the Parish and the Opportunity Center, each grade takes a turn throughout the year preparing meals for the needy. This week, our 6th graders put faith into action, thoughtfully preparing and packaging dozens of fresh sandwiches for our unhoused neighbors. Strong minds and compassionate hearts, indeed!
