We're hosting a College App Workshop TOMORROW at 12 with a Guest Speaker! Come to room 1943 at lunch to hear Jeremy Palgon, professional tutor and essay reviewer, discuss exactly what it is colleges are looking for in personal statements, and provide priceless advice.

Our Committee Board Meeting has been moved to this Wednesday, March 21st, at 12pm in room 1943! Please be there if you are interested in serving as one of the Honors Connection's board members! Here's the official press release:
"We are close to the end of the quarter and Honors Connection is making some additions to its student organization in Spring!
As you know, Honors Connection is an official student organization and network for honors students that has and continues to creatively put together and notify honors students about a number of social and academic based events such as study sessions, seminars, celebrity forums, field trips, documentary showings, and upcoming Yoga workshops! And this is just the beginning.
Now, Honors Connection is looking to expand by creating and implementing a Committee Board within its' student organization. If you are interested in holding a committee position in: Marketing, Community Service and Outreach, Event or Recruitment—this is a great leadership opportunity!
All Honors students interested in being a part of the Committee Board should attend the initial HC Committee Board meeting to get more detailed information:

..A Yoga Workshop!!!
Come learn how to balance and reconnect your body and mind to reduce stress and deepen your academic skills by practicing basic sitting and standing yoga stretches to free up stiff shoulders, hips, neck (and more) and learning breathing and relaxation techniques. This will ALL be useful while preparing for exams!
When: Wednesday, March 14th, from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

What you'll need:
1) Comfortable clothing (elastic waistband)
2) Yoga mat or a beach towel

Book discussion: Let Us Now Praise Famous Men
Gavin Jones, chair of Stanford's English department and author of American Hungers, leads a discussion on the landmark collaboration of James Agee and Walker Evans in documenting Depression-era tenant farming in rural Alabama. Acquaintance with Let Us Now Praise Famous Men is requested; the book is available in the Cantor Arts Center Bookshop. This will be presented in conjunction with the exhibition of Walker Evans (photographer).
If you are a PHOT 8 student (Professor Ron Herman's class) you may attend this event for extra credit!
If you are not a PHOT 8 student, the presentation is still very interesting to attend and enjoy with a group of friends!

As you know, the next Celebrity Forum is coming right up…
Three guests from NPR, Peter Sagal, PJ O'Rourke, and Mo Rocca, will be speaking at this week’s Celebrity Forum (tonight and tomorrow). Both shows will be at De Anza's Flint Center and will start at 8pm.
Your Honors Connection board members will be meeting up before the event on each day! If you are planning to attend tonight's or Friday's show, the Honors Connection will be meeting at Coffee Society (opposite of De Anza College) at 7:00pm. The address is:
