🌼We enjoyed this stick fort in Adobe Creek this week! It inspired so much imaginitve play: it was a hospital, an airplane, a home, and a boat. I wish we could say we built it, but it was already there when we arrived. Thank you to whoever built it! 💖

🌼First day of school with this sweet group of children. We had a super fun day but we missed Teacher Bonnie so much! 💓 😢

💔We lost our dear teacher Bonnie to cancer this week. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all of the children, parents, and teachers whose lives were positively impacted by her. 💔

🦋Happy June! Observing metamorphosis was a major theme in May. We enjoyed raising two batches of caterpillars and releasing the butterflies together. 🦠We were also able to catch and release many tadpoles and several frogs, and observe salamanders in multiple life stages. 🐸We also started working with natural clay to help strengthen hands, improve dexterity, and generally prepare for writing. Other highlights include warm weather creek play, tons of cooperative and collaborative free play, our final yoga circle recalling past poses we learned over the year, and our final circle time learning about letters, the days of the week, and months of the year. This year is passing quickly and been so much fun!🌿⏰

💓🌍 What better way to spend Eath Day than in the garden taking care of the plants and soil? 🌱🌱

🌼Preschool shouldn't be thought of as optional enrichment or academic prep, it is a crucial developmental window when the brain is most adept at learning thinking skills including problem solving, analysis, and exploration. "Pre" is a misnomer. A good preschool avoids worksheets and rote and instead cultivates curiosity.

Preschool Isn't Prep—It's Prime Time for Brain Growth Young brains are inherently designed for thinking. Preschool represents the start of formal learning, rather than merely preparing for it.

🐞 It's ladybug time! Ladybug songs and dances, a ladybug play, ladybug books, a ladybug dot counting and sorting game, releasing live ladybugs, ladybug hunts, and learning about their life cycle. It's such joyful learning. 💖🐞

💧What a difference a day makes! We played in the dry creek bed on Monday, and today we played in the flowing creek! 💦
