Exposure to environmental toxins throughout the day can have a significant impact on our health, affecting our immune system in both the short and long term.
While it may seem challenging to avoid these ubiquitous toxins, being aware of the issue can help you lead a healthier lifestyle.
Common sources of environmental toxins include pesticides, industrial pollution, and household products. Harmful ingredients to watch out for include phthalates, QUATS, triclosan, and 2-butoxyethanol.
To reduce exposure, make small lifestyle changes such as avoiding plastic containers, using a water filter, and being mindful of the products you use on your body. When choosing cleaning or personal care products, always check the ingredient list rather than relying solely on "green" or "natural" labels.
If you must use chemical-based household products, take precautions to minimize health risks.

Protecting nature: Small actions with big impact

As smart as our bodies are at adjusting according to their needs, sometimes they receive mixed signals. One particularly dangerous example can occur during early childhood, when our brains are still growing and forming a neuromuscular system. If a child is exposed to a toxic metal like lead at this time, they could experience issues and disabilities that may impact them for life.
One of the best ways to mitigate the harmful effects of lead exposure in children is to keep them on a healthy diet. This diet should include increased calcium intake, iron, and vitamin C.

Conducting Low-Flow Sampling
A low-flow sampling procedure starts with purging the water located in the underground aquifer. Youâll have to do it at a rate mimicking the ambient water flow, which is around 0.1 to 0,5L/mm. Youâll also need to choose between manual and automatic pumping. The former method gives you greater control, while the latter is faster. Both methods require close monitoring.
After pumping, youâll need to perform stabilization tests on the water before taking a sample. The key parameters to check include D.O, pH, temperature, and conductivity. The best way to ensure that stabilization is reached is to take readings every three to five minutes. Once you get three readings returning the same results, you can collect the sample.
