Some things never change.

Over a decade ago, our Founder and Director of Instruction, Steve Greiner, PGA, shared the vision behind Links to Freedom during National Golf Day in Washington, D.C.

While our programs have grown, our mission remains the same: providing specialized adaptive golf instruction that helps wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans rebuild confidence, reconnect with others, and discover that healing can happen one swing at a time.

We're proud of how far we've come—and even more excited about where we're going.
T
ake a moment to watch this interview and learn more about the mission that continues to guide us today.

🇺🇸 Because it's always been about more than golf.

What if the biggest victory in adaptive golf isn't found on the scorecard?

For many wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans, recovery is about more than physical healing. It's about rediscovering what's possible, rebuilding trust in yourself, and taking that next step forward.

In the latest installment of our **Beyond the Game** blog series, PGA Professional Patrick Feindt shares how adaptive golf helps participants replace doubt with progress—one swing, one breakthrough, and one small victory at a time.

Because sometimes the greatest transformation isn't found in a golf swing…it's found in believing in yourself again.

Recovery is about more than healing the body—it's about rediscovering belief in yourself. Discover how adaptive golf helps wounded, ill, and injured service members build resilience, overcome doubt, and recognize what's possible through the Links to Freedom program.

The friendships formed at Links to Freedom often last long after the final putt.

What begins as a golf clinic becomes a community built on shared experiences, encouragement, and genuine camaraderie.

Many participants tell us they came for golf...

But stayed because they found people who understood.

Healing happens in many ways.

Sometimes it begins with a simple conversation walking down the fairway.

No two participants are the same.

Neither are the solutions.

Adaptive golf may include specialized equipment, modified techniques, mobility devices, or simply a different approach to instruction.

Our goal isn't to make everyone swing alike.

Our goal is to help every participant discover what works best for them.

Individual solutions.

Meaningful progress.

Lasting confidence.

Healing doesn't happen through pressure.

It happens through trust.

Our instructors recognize that many participants are navigating PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, anxiety, or other invisible wounds.

Trauma-informed coaching means creating an environment where instruction feels safe, encouraging, and participant-centered.

Sometimes the greatest lesson isn't about the next shot.

It's helping someone believe in themselves again.

Understanding military culture isn't optional.

It's essential.

Our instructors learn how military experiences, leadership, service, and transition influence the way participants communicate, learn, and build trust.

When instructors understand where someone has been...

They can better help them discover where they're going.

Respect creates connection.

Connection creates healing.

Before teaching the golf swing...

We take time to understand the person.

Every participant comes to Links to Freedom with a different story, different goals, and different challenges.

Some are learning to play with physical injuries.

Others are overcoming PTSD or TBI.

Many simply want to reconnect with others who understand.

Only then does instruction begin.

Because every great lesson starts with listening.

Most people see golf.

We see a wounded, ill, or injured warrior who deserves instruction built around their abilities—not their limitations.

Adaptive golf isn't simply teaching someone to swing a club.

It's understanding physical injuries, invisible wounds, adaptive techniques, and creating an environment where confidence can be rebuilt one shot at a time.

That's why our instructors receive specialized training beyond traditional golf instruction.

Because for us...

It's More Than Golf.
