Can we trust that God will never fail us? 🙏

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that His Church will stand firm: “Upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.”

The Church is the sacrament of salvation, given to us by Christ to guide us toward Him. When life feels uncertain, we can trust that God remains faithful and that He continues to lead us through His Church.

🙏 Reflect with us on Matthew 16:13-20 and discover what it means to place your trust in God and His Church.

Yesterday, we officially welcomed the Class of 2030 to Saint Francis University! ❤️🐺

Despite the rain, excitement was in the air as new students and their families arrived in Loretto—checking in at Stokes Athletics Center, moving into residence halls, meeting new friends and beginning their SFU journey.

The day culminated with a warm welcome from President Fr. Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R., officially marking the start of a new chapter for these students, and for Saint Francis University.

And this class holds a special place in SFU history: our first incoming class of Red Wolves! 🐺

Rain or shine, there’s nothing quite like Move-In Day in Loretto.

Welcome home, Red Wolves. The adventure is just beginning!

How can we persistently come to the Lord in prayer while learning to desire what God wants for us?

This Sunday’s Gospel reminds us through the faith of the Canaanite woman that prayer requires trust, persistence, and a willingness to place our hopes in God’s hands.

Watch this week’s Sunday Scripture Reflection on Matthew 15:21–28 and reflect with us on what it means to keep turning to Christ in prayer.

Where is Jesus calling you to step out of the boat and trust Him in your life?

In this Sunday's Gospel (Matthew 14:22–33), Jesus walks on the water toward His disciples during a heavy storm. Seeing Him, Peter steps out of the boat and walks on the water—yet the moment he focuses on the fierce wind, fear takes over, and he begins to sink. Reaching out immediately, Jesus catches him and brings peace to the storm.

This miracle serves as a profound reminder of the life of faith. Just as Peter was safe as long as his eyes were fixed on Christ, we too are invited to look past the overwhelming storms of our lives and place our trust completely in Him.

May we have the courage to step beyond our comfort zones, keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust that His hand is always ready to save us. 🙏

From raising ants in his backyard to protecting ecosystems in the field 🐜🌱🎮

Louis Kordish turned a childhood curiosity for nature into a passion for conservation while also finding his place as a competitive gamer on Saint Francis University’s Super Smash Bros. Esports team.

Through hands-on biology research, a conservation internship with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and involvement across campus, Louis discovered how his passions for the outdoors, gaming, and community could come together.

See how SFU helped Louis find his “And.” 👇
