Families, earlier we sent out information regarding dismissal. If your child is a car rider you MUST go through the car rider lane to pick up your child. If your child is a car rider and you walk up to the gym door to pick them up you will need to wait until all car riders are dismissed or you will need to walk into the office to pick up your child. Dear Toni Morrison Families,
Welcome Back! We are excited to see you tomorrow when school begins at 8:00 AM. Please review these important procedures to ensure a safe start to the year.
Arrival
Students should be dropped off at the front doors. Staff members will be inside and outside to help them find their way to the right places.
Dismissal
Kindergarten: Dismissal is at the back door via hand-to-hand pickup with the teacher
Note: Older siblings cannot be dismissed from the Kindergarten exit. Please pick up your Kindergarten student first and then proceed to the front of the building for your older child
Walkers (Grades 1-5): These students will be dismissed first out of the front doors
Car Riders: Students will be dismissed from the gym as parents drive through the front loop. PLEASE Stay in your car: Parents must remain in their vehicles at all times.
Lane 1 Instructions: Pull all the way up to the curve to allow more cars into the line
Staff Assistance: Do not stop to look for your child; a staff member will come to your car window to ask for your child's name and grade level. We will bring your child to you.
Safety Reminders
Bus Safety: Do not park in the bus lane or areas marked "no parking".
Traffic Flow: Do not stop in the crosswalk and do not enter through the exit

Finished up our One School One Book Stuart Little whole school book study. It was marvelous!!! Thank you to the VFW for donating the books and to the local SPARKS theater program for their amazing performance today. Now we need to decide on our book for next year!

We've been watching the weather, and it's looking clear for Sunday. ☀️

So let's do this. We still need our creative community to show up for Sidewalks of Appreciation on May 3. If you've been on the fence, this is your sign. Artists, students, families, this is your chance to create something our teachers and staff will see the moment they walk in on Monday morning. And if your school is already full, please choose another and help us make sure every building feels the same love. We are only 52% of the way to our goal.

We're kicking off Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week in a new way this year. We need your help! Join us for Sidewalks of Appreciation on Sunday, May 3, from 3–5 p.m. at every Lorain school. Let's fill our sidewalks with messages of love for our staff. For this event to be a success, we need a team of creative volunteers at EVERY school.
