URGENT UPDATE 🚨

Lorain High School Titans,

We want to share an urgent and important update regarding the start of the school day at Lorain High School.

Effective immediately, Lorain High School’s instructional day will now begin at 7:35 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m.

This means that 9th graders who are due to report for their first day of school will need to be in class by 7:35 a.m. beginning tomorrow morning, August 19.



Important times for Lorain High School:

7:05 a.m. - Building opens
7:35 a.m. — Instruction begins: Students are expected to be in their first-period class
7:05 - 8:00 a.m. - Cafeteria doors open
7:05 - 7:25 a.m. - Breakfast is available: Students who would like breakfast should arrive during this window.
Students who arrive to first period after 7:35 a.m. will be considered tardy.
Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. must check in through the main office.



We recognize that sharing this information just one day before the start of school may create challenges for students, families, and staff. We sincerely apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience this change may cause.

Please help us make sure this important update reaches your classmates, fellow students, families and staff members.

For transportation, families are encouraged to download the My Ride K-12 app, where you can access your student’s bus stop location and scheduled pick-up and drop-off times.

To log in, you will need your child’s Student ID number.

I'm proud of them all… They're amazing and are staying involved with YSP at Ohio State, like so many other Lorain scholars! I love seeing you all support our community! 🫶🏾🌰❤️

What a tremendous privilege it was to bestow awards upon the exceptional YSP Lorain Class of 2026 at Lorain High School's esteemed Senior Awards Ceremony this morning! 🤩

As these brilliant minds embark on their next journey, most will be joining the Buckeyes at OSU this Fall, while others will be taking their talents to other prestigious colleges. Each scholar has a unique path to conquer, built upon the solid foundation laid by YSP. We couldn't be prouder of each and every one of you! 🌰❤️👏🏾

The excitement is palpable, as tomorrow's graduation ceremony promises to be an unforgettable milestone that will be forever etched in memory! 🎓🎉
