We are so excited to share this big news!

Lorain City Schools is excited to announce that its VEX Robotics competition robotics program will expand to all middle and high school students in the fall with the creation of the Lorain Titans Robotics Team, giving students at Longfellow, Gen. Johnnie Wilson and Southview middle schools, as well as Lorain High School, the chance to be a part of the team.

Students who want to be part of the action are encouraged to come and see the new Lorain Titans Robotics Hub and see a robot in action during a summer open house from 3-5 PM on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Longfellow Middle School in rooms 190/186.

As the school year ends it was great to see our 8th grade Robotics teammates all dressed up and danced the night away at the 8th grade formal. We wish our 8th graders the best of luck as the move up to high school next year!

Tonight was filled with awards for the team wrapping up the Tipping Point Season. The icing on the cake was tonight the team was recognized at the Lorain City Council meeting receiving A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE LONGFELLOW MIDDLE SCHOOL’S ROBOTICS TEAM FOR THEIR SUCCESS AT THE VEX ROBOTICS COMPETITION. Thank you Ward 2 Councilwoman Mrs. Kempton and Lorain City Council for this great honor. Congratulations to all the members on the team, coaches, Longfellow Middle School, and LCS.

States has come to an end, it was a very hard fought day with ups and downs, successes and disappointments, challenges and problem solving and gratitude for all that was learned and experienced expressed by all the ladies on the team. The team worked together very hard today, gave it their best, they were among the best of the best in Ohio! They ended the season 39th in the State of Ohio Skills Rankings. That is sure something to be proud of and they are already ready to take on what is next year's VRC challenge. Once hooked in the life of robotics always in the life of robotics. So our season comes to an end for the Longfellow Robotics Team. We want to thank all of the people that have cheered us on over the season and supported us. To all our sponsors who made it possible for us to compete, we Thank You! Thank you to the parents for allowing us to share your children's journey of growth seeing them flourish and develop skills that will last a lifetime. It has been our pleasure to be the coaches and mentors for this great Longfellow Robotics team.
