🦠Friendly reminder that attendance matters but so does health and wellness!

🤧It's that time of year where common illnesses such as flu, RSV, and the common cold are finding their home in schools! Unfortunately, we are no exception. Please review the protocols below if you are questioning whether or not to send your child to school when they are under the weather.

🫧Ms. Reilin does an amazing job keeping our building clean and sanitized! Let's please help her out by continuing to practice handwashing routines and modeling coughing into the elbow!

Please remember to call the front office if your child will be absent!

🌟 Shoutout to the incredible power of paraprofessionals! 🌟

Every day, our paraprofessionals make a profound difference in the lives of our students. They are the patient guides, the creative problem-solvers, and the consistent champions who ensure every child can thrive.

Let me introduce you to one of our favs, Ms. Alyssa!!! Ms. Alyssa pours her heart and soul into our students every day! She is incredibly devoted to our students success! Because of her hard work and dedication, Zahlee is learning to use her communication device to tell us how proud she is of herself! Today, Zahlee said, "good, job", echoing Ms. Alyssa's guidance!!! With the support of her AAC device and modeling provided by Ms. Alyssa, Zahlee is developing her independence!

We are so grateful for our dedicated team of paraprofessionals and the invaluable impact they have on our school community!

Join us in thanking them for their commitment to student success.

Zander went on an adventure with me today! We ate lunch together and read The Very Impatient Caterpillar by Ross Burach! Zander was so excited to show his reading skills! We learned words such as "metamorphosize" and "chrysalis" and laughed as we discovered that the Caterpillar was, indeed, very impatient!

Zander is expanding his expressive communication by engaging in story telling and refining his orthographic mapping, decoding and word awareness skills while understanding that even caterpillars can have a hard time waiting!

He was so excited about the story that he brought the book with him to recess and decided to share it with his brother, Levi!

As a principal, when you have the opportunity to engage in learning with your students, DON'T MISS OUT!!

Please take some time to enjoy the read aloud attached!

🌟 Celebrating Big Milestones & Daily Wins in Ms. Doyle’s and Ms. Swain’s Classrooms! 🌟

Every student learns, grows, and communicates in their own unique way! In Ms. Doyle’s and Ms. Swain’s classrooms, customized learning, structured routines, and purposeful play come together to help students build essential life and functional skills every single day.

Here is a look at how our amazing students are thriving through adapted learning strategies designed for diverse learning styles:

* Fine Motor & Task Independence: From tracing lines and painting to placement activities, students build hand strength, coordination, and focus through step-by-step visual tasks. 🎨✏️

* Life Skills & Practical Math: Sorting, counting, and practicing everyday routines like interactive calendar dress-ups, help translate classroom learning into real-world independence. 🧩💵

* Communication & Visual Supports: Utilizing visual schedules, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) cards, and interactive boards empowers every student to express their choices, preferences, and daily schedules effectively. 🗣️📋

* Sensory Regulation & Play: Outdoor play, foam pits, and movement centers give students the sensory input they need to self-regulate, recharge, and build social connections with peers. 🛝🏃‍♂️

A huge thank you to our incredible teachers, dedicated staff, and supportive therapists who foster a safe, loving, and supportive environment where every milestone, big or small, is celebrated! 💙✨
