UAEX Lonoke County - FCS Announcements and Information about programs offered by the U of A Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Sciences. That is why "Arkansas is Our Campus."

The Cooperative Extension Service is part of the University of Arkansas' Division of Agriculture. With offices in all 75 counties, our faculty and staff provide educational programs and research-based information to the people of Arkansas. From agricultural programs to family financial management to youth education, we offer educational programs that have immediate and practical applications. The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service is very proud to have faculty in every county of the state who live and work with the citizens they serve. Extension educational programs touch all segments of our society: youth, families, community and, yes, farmers. The Extension faculty work hard to meet the needs of the people they serve, leaving nothing undone that might contribute toward success. Our classrooms are found in open fields or on the tailgate of a pickup. You will find us among Arkansas' 33 million acres of crops, livestock and natural resources. You will find us in conference centers and public schools, community centers and courthouses, in the classroom and in the lab.

TOMORROW is the BIG day! The 4-H Poultry Chain Auction is at 3:30 at the Lonoke County Fair.
You will be able to purchase a pen of 3 Hyline Brown Hens.
ALL proceeds go right back to 4-H programs in Lonoke County.
You can also make donations.
We hope to see you all there!

Saturday, September 26th at 3:30 p.m. at the Lonoke County Fairgrounds
Take home a pen of 3 Hyline Brown Hens, which are "EGG"cellent layers!
Don't need any chickens? You can make a donation!

It is time to register for Walk Across Arkansas!

👣Walk Across Arkansas aims to increase physical activity levels through an eight-week, online, group-based program.

Regular physical activity is one of the most effective disease prevention behaviors.
Physical activity programs:
• Reduce feelings of depression/anxiety;
• Improve balance, coordination, stamina, and strength;
• Reduce obesity (particularly combined with diet);
• Reduce risks of cardiovascular disease (e.g., high blood pressure and cholesterol, stroke, and type 2 diabetes)
