Graduation is an exciting milestone, but for families of students with developmental disabilities, it can also bring a lot of questions about what comes next.

Join us on Thursday, October 22, at Ready to Work for our Life After High School Lunch & Learn, designed to help parents and caregivers explore opportunities, resources, and support available as their child transitions into adulthood.

We'll discuss employment opportunities, adult services, community resources, and ways to help your child build a future filled with independence and purpose.

A Special Visit from Our Local Heroes!

Yesterday was full of excitement at Building Bridges Preschool in Lonoke! Our friends from the Lonoke Fire Department stopped by for a hands-on learning experience, and they brought their fire truck along for the fun!
Our preschool students got an up-close look at the fire truck, explored firefighters' gear and tools, and asked plenty of curious questions!

But the fun didn't stop with our little learners! Participants from our Lonoke Adult Day Center joined in, making it a wonderful experience of learning, connection, and community for all ages.
A HUGE thank-you to the Lonoke Fire Department for taking the time to visit, share your knowledge, and create special memories with our Building Bridges family!

🏆 AWARD-WINNING SERVICE! 🚌💙

We are proud to announce that Building Bridges Developmental & Community Services has been recognized by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) as the Outstanding 5310 Agency for service to our community!

Our staff had the honor of accepting this award at the recent Arkansas Transit Association Conference, celebrating the dedication and hard work that goes into serving our clients every day.

At Building Bridges, transportation is more than just getting from one place to another. It's about creating access, promoting independence, and connecting individuals to opportunities within their communities.

Last month our Lonoke Preschool Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) celebrated DSP week with special treats and lots of fun. From helping children reach new milestones to celebrating the smallest victories, DSPs make a difference in the lives of our little learners every single day through their patience, compassion, and dedication . 🌟

Join us for the 2nd Annual Jingle Mingle on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the AWA Building in Lonoke for a festive evening benefiting Building Bridges Developmental & Community Services.

🍪💙 Goodies with Grands at our Lonoke Preschool!

There’s something extra special about welcoming grandparents and grand-friends into the classroom! Our students loved sharing treats, smiles, hugs, and a little glimpse into their preschool day with some of the people who love them most.

We’re so thankful for the families who help encourage, support, and celebrate our children every step of the way. Moments like these make our Building Bridges community even sweeter! 💙

🏈⛳ Inclusion happens when everyone has a place in the community. 💙

For our Waiver clients, community engagement can look like cheering under the Friday night lights at a high school football game, spending a day at a local golf tournament, or simply being out and about enjoying the same events and traditions as their friends and neighbors.

These experiences are about so much more than having fun. They create opportunities to build friendships, practice independence, discover new interests, and feel a true sense of belonging.

At Building Bridges, we believe people with developmental disabilities shouldn’t just live in their communities—they should be seen, valued, connected, and included in them.

And sometimes, inclusion looks like a seat in the stands, a day on the golf course, and being right where the action is. 💙
