After much deliberation, Chris, Cang, and I (Basil) have finally made a decision about the future of Orlando Parkour. We know many of you have been waiting for an update, and we truly appreciate your patience. It wasn’t easy for us to come to this conclusion, but after nearly a decade of teaching, training, and growing with this incredible community, we’ve decided that it’s time to move on and focus on other aspects of our lives.
To be clear, we will not be pursuing another gym right now. While parkour will always be a part of who we are, it just makes sense for us career-wise to take a different path. That doesn’t change how much we love this sport or how much we cherish the memories we’ve built together over the years. Seeing our students grow, not just as athletes but as people, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. You all have been like family to us, and that’s what made this decision so difficult.
One of the biggest challenges we faced in trying to continue was the skyrocketing cost of running a gym. The inflation of the real estate market has made it almost impossible for us to sustain Orlando Parkour without drastically increasing fees just to cover rent, insurance, and other business expenses. This was not the future we wanted for our community, and ultimately, it played a major role in our decision.
We’re sorry it took so long to reach a decision—it was hard to let go of something that has been our second home for so long. But we hope you all understand, and more importantly, we hope you continue training, pushing your limits, and keeping the spirit of parkour alive.
This is farewell for now, but not goodbye forever. We hope to cross paths again in the future—whether in training, competition, or just in life. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Much love,
Orlando Parkour/Urban ninja (Cang, Basil & Chris)
