👀 fun stuff happening at the library!📚
Fall time, and October!
We’ve got a stacked month with plenty of spooky season fun planned for you, so let’s take a look:
October 3.
• Sketchbook Sessions - Glue Drawings at 10:00 a.m.
• Haunted Library Volunteer Orientation at 10:30 a.m.
October 5
• The Monster Building Handbook Writing Project at 4:30 p.m., Mondays during Discovery Kids STEAM Labs. Ongoing activities and projects up until the month of December.
October 6.
• Genealogy Help Day from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sign up and secure your appointment! Call (903) 237-1351 or private message us.
October 7.
• Haunted Library Volunteer Orientation at 5:30 p.m.
October 9.
• Tai Chi at the Library. Two sessions to choose from. Fall Prevention class at 9:30 a.m. and Traditional class at 10:00 a.m. Sign up and secure your spots today. Call (903) 237-1351 or private message us.
October 10.
• Haunted Library Volunteer Orientation at 10:30 a.m. This is the last chance to attend and sign up as volunteers, so don’t miss out!
• Teen Dungeons & Dragons Universe-ity, ongoing campaign for established players, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Visit the youth services desk or call (903) 237-1345 for campaign details and to see if there’s room left to sign up.
October 13.
• Quilt Square Club - Kinusaiga. Learn this traditional Japanese technique to make a “quilted” pieced photo. From 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

October 15 - 17.
• HAUNTED LIBRARY!
The library will be closed for services and facilities use for set up day purposes. Curbside Library Pickup will be available from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday only. Outside drops will remain open for item returns.
Haunted Library opens on Friday and Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Admission price is $5.00 per person, each entry. We will sell tickets out on the plaza, in the general admission line during the event duration. Pre-sale tickets will not be available for purchase during the day.
We will resume normal library functions on Sunday, but please pardon our ghoul dust as there may be storage and prop items tucked out of the way.
October 20.
• Teen Hangout - Pumpkin Carving from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Ages 13-17 are invited to come hang out for some afternoon fun and carve pumpkins with us. Free to attend.
October 23.
• Seniors Coffee Time - Puzzles. Come enjoy a cup of coffee, some snacks, and some fun activity time from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. We’ll set out some jigsaw puzzles to work on to keep everyone chatting and busy. Recommended for age 55+, but please feel free to bring any of your adult crew friends to enjoy coffee with you!
October 24.
• Diverse Readers Book Club from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
October 27.
• Mad Hatter Tea Party.
We’re going a bit MAD here at the library and hosting a tea party for Mad Hatter Day (celebrated earlier in the month). Come for an afternoon of curious craft time and delectable snacks provided by Edible Arts. 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. for ages 18+. Free to attend.
October 31.
• Librarian Book Talk - Psychological Thrillers Edition. Stream our online book recommendation series and get some perfect suggestions for books to read on Halloween! Watch on our page at 10:00 a.m.
