The Texas Department of Public Safety – Regulatory Services Division is excited to share that we will soon be launching a new licensing platform that will streamline processing and enhance the applicant experience.

This new Enterprise Licensing System, called RSD Connect, is tentatively scheduled to go live on September 30, 2026.

With this transition, there will be planned downtime to allow for migration of data into our new system. This downtime is tentatively scheduled for September 13 – 29, 2026, but is subject to change depending on many moving parts that must be aligned for the migration to take place.

As an LTC Instructor, we are reaching out to you first so you can help create awareness within the instructor community and among your students that during this period our website will not accept applications or supporting documents. Additionally, LTC Instructors will be invited to participate in live webinars demonstrating the functionality of the new system prior to its implementation. You will receive a separate email invitation once these webinars are scheduled and available for registration.

RSD will continue to keep you advised as new information becomes available.

Important to check your ammo and the manufacturer for quality. We had a 9mm from a manufacturer that sells remanufactured ammo with a case that looked like it had been reloaded too many times; it blew up in a pistol. The student was ok, but lesson learned.
