Two of the very best !!!

Had a great talk at the Dallas Safari Club Nacogdoches! Great crowd and wonderful people! Larry Weishuhn and I got to talk old times. Larry always gives a great talk, filled with humor and wisdom! I value his friendship!

I’ve learned so much from watching the MDT Sporting Goods Pro Team over the past several months as I’ve put my MDT chassis together.

I’ve put these learnings into practice and have significantly tighten up my groups out to a 1/2 mile with my Savage 110 tactical .308

Over a decade ago God saw fit to have our path’s cross in Southern California. Since then this dude right here has made me a better man. Our talks over the years are what is all about.

Having a small circle of men who invest in your life as a Believer, Husband, Father and Adventurer are crucial to my health.

Thank you DCW for all the talks over the years. I always look forward to our iron sharpening iron talks.

Like you say, “No man is a failure that has great friends”!

So… I raised the Hawke Sidewinder with Vortex rings - 2.5” BH for future optic options. And re-zeroed … 5 rounds in the same hole at 100. (.4” group)

Then 1” groups at 200, 250, 300, 350, & 400

It’s a different world of shooting when you’re consistently hammering 4” square steel in 1” groups on target out to 400 yards. Your confidence level begins to grow quickly.

Still tons to learn …

- tracking my impacts thru the optics

- holding the trigger until I see the impact … reduces movement.

- remembering to only rest my cheek on cheek well as I cycle each round so my head does not move.

- refraining from putting too much cheek pressure on the stock which inadvertently causes bore movement.

- working to be consistent on body placement … head, hand, thumb, trigger finger, etc. (consistency is key)

Looking forward to taking my Savage .308 back out to 880 yards. I believe my 1/2 mile groups will significantly improve with the addition of my MDT LSS Gen 3 Chassis, JARD, Inc. trigger, Tricer RP bipod & Cole-TAC setup.

Well, for the better part of 10 years the ole Savage Arms 110 tactical in .308 ran well in its factory stock weighing in at 12.2 lbs.

I’ve had great success with it out to 842 yards w/ Federal Premium GMM SMK 175 gr using the Hawke Sidewinder 30 FFP 6-24x56 and SilencerCo Omega with very accurate DOPE.

Recently I put it in a MDT Sporting Goods LSS Gen 3 Chasis.

Dropped in a 13-18 oz. Straight profile JARD, Inc.

And… put it on a Tricer RP bipod & Cole-TAC bags.

The first 5 for 5 at 200, 250, 300, 350, & 400 yards were spot on and surprisingly enough I didn’t have to change my dope after dropping it in the Chasis & adding the Trigger System.

My first impression from my range day, today. Now, weighing in at 17.2 lbs, the upgrade to the Chasis, Trigger, Bipod & Bags made this setup so much more stable, easier to stay on target after the break, and a noticeable increase in precision on targets at distance. It truly is a precision setup, now.

Super excited to start Coyote & Hog hunting with it at distance; as well as, shooting Steel out to 880, which has been the goal all along.

My buddy LG is trying to get me to go shoot a steel match. We’ll see ?!

If you’re going to spend the day working the property, might as well run some throw-lines while you work. And then, eat them for dinner.

left them both with 15’ of each other.
