📣 Today is the LAST DAY to comment on the proposed Head Start rule.

✅ Families, staff and community partners: your stories matter. A few sentences about what Head Start has meant to your family counts a lot!

🏛️The federal government has proposed rewriting the Head Start Performance Standards, the rules that shape how programs like ours serve children and families. The Daily News looked at what this could mean in Cowlitz County in a three-part series: home visits and family support, help for dual language learners, and class sizes.

Public comment closes tonight, Oct. 6.

LCC Head Start officials say a federal rewrite could lower the quality of care and strip away support services that families rely on.

☀️A sincere thanks to Altrusa for their meaningful donation of books to our Early Head Start, and for their kind presence this week! We appreciate you! 📚

On the Thursday United Way Day of Caring, we donated 43 books to the Early Headstart Home Base program located at Barnes School in Kelso. Besides working on craft kits to supply for in home use, it was nice to see that new and some gently used books will also go to homes.
