I chose the dental industry because it allows me to combine my passion for healthcare with a personal connection to patients. I love that it’s a field where I can make a visible difference in people’s lives, helping them feel confident and healthy when they smile. A great dental assistant, in my eyes, is someone who is both empathetic and detail-oriented, someone who anticipates needs, communicates well, and stays organized in a fast-paced environment. I chose surgery as a focus because it pushes me to learn advanced skills—like assisting with procedures—while being a crucial part of the patient’s care team. It’s a challenging yet rewarding path.
The most exciting role to me is becoming a dental instructor because it combines everything I love about dentistry: patient care, continuous learning, and mentorship.
Dentistry is constantly evolving, and I find it inspiring that instructors have the opportunity to stay at the forefront of new techniques and technologies while passing that knowledge on to others. Being an instructor means having the ability to shape future dental professionals, build their confidence, and teach them not only clinical skills but also compassion and professionalism. Knowing that my guidance could influence countless careers and, in turn, positively impact thousands of patients makes this role incredibly meaningful to me.
