We have been busy bees! 🐝

This week has been full of gratitude, celebration, and lots of love here at Applewood. We started our mornings with Muffins for Mom, taking time to honor the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures who love, sacrifice, and pour so much into their little ones. We are so thankful for each of you.

We’ve also felt incredibly appreciated during Teacher Appreciation Week. To the thoughtful parents who brought goodies, treats, and kind gestures for our staff, thank you. Your generosity means more than you know. Loving your babies is our joy, and being appreciated along the way is such a blessing.

And of course… we couldn’t let Cinco de Mayo pass without a little fun our Applewood family celebrated with tacos, smiles, and happy little faces all around! 🌮🎉

Moms, in honor of Mother’s Day please drop your babies off tomorrow! We have a sweet surprise for you! 🩷🌻

At Applewood, we love creating opportunities for learning that go beyond the classroom walls 🐜💚

Over the past two weeks, our Pre-K class has been diving into the fascinating world of ants, insects, plants, and all the amazing body parts that make these tiny creatures so unique. Today, we wrapped up our unit with a fun classroom picnic, complete with sack lunches, and lots of smiles.

One of the sweetest parts of this lesson was our Parent Interaction At-Home Ant Project, a special project designed for parents and children to work on together. Watching our students proudly bring in projects they created side-by-side with their families was something truly special. The creativity was incredible, but even more meaningful was seeing learning continue at home through parent-child interaction, conversation, and hands-on fun.

Thank you, parents, for taking the time to be part of your child’s learning journey. Those moments matter more than you know, and it showed in every single project brought through our doors. 🐜🖍️🌱🧺

They spent time outside gently washing our baby dolls with soap and rags, and while it may look like simple play, it was so much more 🫧

They were learning to care for others, practicing responsibility, and building fine motor skills with every little scrub. Watching them nurture, help, and take pride in their “work” is exactly what early childhood education is all about.

The Easter Bunny hopped by Applewood…and left behind a whole lot of smiles 🐰🩷

I always say… I didn’t just end up in childcare, I was basically raised in it 😂 I spent my younger years here, and now I get to stand beside my mom doing the same thing she’s poured her life into for 35 years. I’ve been right here with her for almost 10 of those years, and it’s something I’ll never take for granted.

From opening our doors at 6:45 in the morning to closing them in the evening, this is our life. It’s not always easy, childcare is one of the hardest jobs there is, but it is so worth it.

Applewood isn’t a babysitting club, we teach, we pour into these kids, and we build a foundation for who they’re going to become. Every single day we’re shaping confidence, independence, and kindness…raising the kind of children who grow into something great.

Applewood is more than just a daycare to us. It’s where children grow, where families trust us with their whole world, and where we get to watch little lives turn into something so much bigger. Seeing kids that we once took care of go on and accomplish amazing things… that’s what makes every early morning and long day worth it.

We are confident in what we do, not because we’re perfect, but because we show up every single day and give it everything we have. Whether we receive this award or not, we know who we are and what we’ve built.

But we could not do this without our teachers and staff. They are the heart of Applewood. They love these kids like their own, and they show up every single day giving it everything they have.

And above everything, we give all the glory to God. Because without Him, we couldn’t wake up and do this job the way we do.
