It’s that time again—but this year, we’re doing things a little differently!

Elk Valley FFA is seeking local businesses and community supporters to sponsor our 2026–2027 Chapter T-shirts. Your sponsorship will help support our members, chapter activities, leadership opportunities, and FFA events throughout the year.

🟨 GOLD SPONSOR — $500 or more
A larger business logo featured on the shirt

⬜ SILVER SPONSOR — $250–$499
A medium business logo or prominently displayed business name featured on the shirt

🟫 BRONZE SPONSOR — $100–$249
Business name featured on the shirt

⭐ Sponsors who contribute $1,000 or more will also have their business featured on a banner displayed at our annual FFA Banquet!

This Friday is our first annual back-to-school event with FFA!

Q&As:
-Do you have to be in FFA? NO! This event is a recruitment event for our Chapter to spread to all students and their families what FFA is and how it can benefit them.
-Does the event cost? Sure doesn't. Free will donation is always welcome, however, it is not required!
-Where is this at? The slides will be set up right to the north of the building at the fairgrounds in Longton.
-I have a 5th grader, can they still come? Unfortunately, this event is for grades 6-12, but if your 5th grader is coming as family to someone 6-12 that works!
-How much food do you have? We have hot dogs, chips, and bottled water for 100 people!

We hope for this to be a hit event and to see you all there! FFA wants to educate about the opportunities you could have, but we also just want to get this school year kicked off with a positive and fun start for everyone.

💦SLIPPIN BACK TO SCHOOL WITH FFA!💦
Come join the Elk Valley FFA chapter on August 21st from 6 pm to 8 pm for the back to school slip and slide. Families and
grades 6 through 12 are welcome; there will be grilled hot dogs and great spirit to start this year for the Elk Valley FFA.
Bring your lion spirit! Everyone is welcome, come see what your FFA chapter does!

Most important of all… this officer team built strong relationships and ended the weekend much closer than they were before. Team Building ✅
They learned about themselves, each other, and what they want for the chapter. This group wants to be remembered as “that” officer team. The one that proves leadership is an action and sets traditions for future years to come.

Thank you to Heartland Retreat Center for hosting our officers, feeding us, and guiding us through the course!

Fair Week Recap!

Wow, what a week that went by in the blink of an eye. Outside of a very successful sheep show, we had some other great moments as well.

Journey Eades and Jamee White showed a market hog as well, both being 3rd in their class. This was such a learning curve, especially for Journey, as it was her first year having a project!

Mrs. Orton showed the barrow in the VIP Showmanship Class and won Grand Champion in it.

Bob Hoffin was the winner of our half hog raffle.

We wanted to take a moment to thank every business that donated to these kids for the premium sale and supporting our program while we work to bring more kids to the show world! An extra thank you to Elk Creek Farms (Steve and Patti Powers) for buying Journey’s hog.

🎉 It’s Fair Week! 🎉

We have two Elk Valley FFA members exhibiting under our chapter at this year’s county fair. We’d love for you to come out and support them!

📅 Thursday
🐑 9:00 AM – Jamee will be exhibiting in the Sheep & Goat Show.

📅 Friday
🐖 8:30 AM – Journey and Jamee will both be showing their market hogs.

⭐ VIP Showmanship
Following the Beef Show (which begins at 6:00 PM), Mrs. Orton will be participating in the VIP Showmanship competition.

🎟️ Don’t forget about our ½ Hog Raffle!
Stop by our booth to purchase raffle tickets. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the Premium Sale.

💳 Payment Options
We’ll have a Venmo QR code available at the booth throughout the fair for easy payment.

💵 If you’d rather pay with cash, an FFA officer will be at the booth during the following times:

•Friday: 2:00–4:00 PM & 6:00–8:00 PM
•Saturday: 2:00–4:00 PM & 6:00–8:00 PM

We appreciate all of the support for our Elk Valley FFA members and chapter. We hope to see you at the fair! Enjoy the pictures of the adventures these girls have had with their animals as their time with them comes to a close at the end of the week 💙💛
