Today in AP Business students learned about profit vs. revenue: They built marshmallow towers with toothpicks. They received revenue based on height and structural integrity. Their variable costs were the toothpicks and marshmallows. Each group had a CEO, accountant, and engineer. All structures netted at least $6000 in profit and Mattie, Savannah, and Jasper’s structure netted over 10k due to bonuses for extra height and structural integrity. It was a great learning moment about profit trumping revenue!

Today in AP Business and Personal Finance, students learned the importance of clear, detailed, and concise communications. Students worked in groups. They were assigned a project manager( communicator) role and a contractor (illustrator) role. They had to blindly draw out a popular logo based solely on communications from their project manager. It provided amazing insight about clear communication.

We are excited about our new partnersip with Michael Therapy Services. They provide, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Behavioral Regulation services to students. They are offering free developmental screenings for students. They accept Medicaid, ESTF and Exceptional SC. This is a valuable service for all N.M.B.C.S. and School Choice families.

Hello! My name is Lauren Brown and I graduated from Coastal Carolina University in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. I am passionate about teaching students and ensuring a welcoming and positive learning environment. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, volunteering, going to the movie theater, and looking for shells at the beach. I am so excited to make meaningful connections with the students and school community. I look forward to being a part of the Stallion family!
