Meet Ms. Guoli, our amazing UPK teacher!
She earned her Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at CU Boulder, and for more than 18 years, she has been inspiring young learners in preschool, pre‑K, and kindergarten. This September marks her 7th year teaching at Sunset Academy, and we couldn’t be happier to have her continue shaping young minds with us.

She absolutely loves teaching and is bursting with excitement for the new school year. She welcomes all new students and families with open arms and can’t wait to start a fun, creative, and successful year together.

Another Upgrade Complete at Sunset Academy!

This weekend, we completed another exciting improvement to our campus—our kitchen has been upgraded with a beautiful new set of cabinets.

Our previous cabinets faithfully served the school for more than 30 years, but after decades of daily use, it was time for a fresh start. Thanks to the generosity of TLC, we were able to give them a second life here at Sunset Academy.

The new cabinets are taller, slimmer, and provide significantly more storage while making the kitchen feel brighter, cleaner, and more spacious. It’s an upgrade that improves both functionality and appearance for the team that prepares meals and snacks for our children every day.

At Sunset Academy, we believe a great learning environment extends beyond the classrooms. Every improvement—whether it’s a playground, classroom furniture, or our kitchen—is an investment in the experience of our children, teachers, and families.

We also love finding sustainable ways to improve our school. Reusing high-quality materials whenever possible allows us to reduce waste while directing more resources toward what matters most: our children.

The transformation continues!

Our Brown Bears had an unforgettable adventure exploring the Denver Museum of Nature & Science this weekend! From getting up close with giant dinosaur fossils to discovering hands-on science exhibits, our preschoolers were full of curiosity, excitement, and wonder every step of the way.

Field trips like these give children the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom, ask questions, explore new ideas, and create lasting memories with their friends. Watching their faces light up as they uncovered the mysteries of dinosaurs and science reminded us just how powerful learning through play and exploration can be!

A special thank you to our amazing Brown Bears teacher, Miss Mari, for making this adventure possible! Her dedication, enthusiasm, and love for teaching help create experiences that inspire our children to explore, discover, and grow every day. We are so grateful for everything she does for our Brown Bears!

🔷🔺 Learning Through Play at Sunset Academy! 🔴🟩

Our preschoolers have been hard at work strengthening their early math and cognitive skills by identifying and naming different shapes during circle time! From circles and squares to pentagons and hexagons, our students are building the foundation for future learning while having fun.

Hands-on activities like these encourage children to observe, think critically, build confidence, and actively participate with their classmates. We love watching each child eagerly raise their hand and proudly identify the correct shape!

💛 Learning Begins From the Very First Days 💛

Our little learners spent time today exploring together during tummy time, strengthening their muscles, discovering new textures, and beginning to build those first social connections. Every smile, reach, wiggle, and curious glance is an important milestone in their development!
