Yesterday, SVVEA leaders and members had the pleasure of welcoming new educators to the St. Vrain Valley School District. New educators had the opportunity to hear from their peers the value of union membership as well as what we can accomplish when we use our collective voice. It was a fun and inspiring event, and we are excited to welcome our new members!

For the last five days, Colorado delegates joined educators from across the country to debate, collaborate, organize, learn, and help shape the future of our union. We are proud of the work they did and the power they are bringing back home to their locals.

We did it!

After a marathon session yesterday, SB26-135 officially passed at 1:20 AM and is headed to the November 2026 ballot.

CEA members across the state emailed senators and representatives, showed up in their communities, testified, rallied, shared their stories, and kept the pressure on until our elected officials ran our bill.

Now, Colorado voters will have the chance to cut the ropes holding back our schools and build the fully staffed, fully funded, fully supported public schools every student deserves.

Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we keep organizing.
