Sunrise Stampede
The Sunrise Stampede is on Saturday August 15, 2026. It includes the following events: 5k Run/Walk, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (all ages), SVVSD Student 5K, FREE 1 MILE ENTRIES: First 25 SVVSD Students to enter!!!, and FREE 5K ENTRIES: First 75 SVVSD Students to enter!!!.

One of my favorite traditions! š Each year, graduating seniors who once walked these halls as little learners come back for a final walk through our school while students and staff cheer them on. We are so proud of our graduates and canāt wait to see all they accomplish!

Congratulations to Lance Thorne, Kitchen Manager at Longmont Estates Elementary in St. Vrain. Lance has been selected as Colorado's Manager of the Year for 2026! His leadership has created a cafeteria environment where students feel welcomed, valued, and excited to participate each day. Through creativity, connection, and a genuine commitment to inclusivity, Lance has transformed daily meal service into a meaningful and joyful experience for students and staff alike. As a leader, he is known for mentoring and supporting his team and peers, building confidence, strengthening skills, and fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture. Lanceās active involvement in School Nutrition Association efforts and his encouragement of professional growth have helped elevate engagement and connection across his team and the broader school nutrition community. Through strong relationships within his school and community, Lance continues to shine a light on the impact of school nutrition, making him a truly deserving recipient of this honor.
