What Does BMES PTO Do?
You likely know that the letters PTO stand for Parent Teacher Organization. So, what does that really mean? In fancy terms, we aim to “enhance learning and promote community during and after school hours” at Blue Mountain. We do this by promoting the involvement of all parents and legal guardians and encouraging positive communication and cooperation between faculty, students, parents, legal guardians and the community at large.
A huge portion of our work is designed to help raise money for the school to supplement the limited budget provided to our school. Here are some items and experiences BMES has helped to fund this school year alone:
- Time for Kids" Social Studies program
-Denver Children's Museum/Zoo guest speakers that come to the school
-STEM bins for Kindergarten learning
-Large storage furniture for a new classroom
-A filament for the new 3D printer in the Design Den
-Books and supplies for the Library and Design Den
-A portion of Chrome books used in classrooms
-A portion of the planners for all children grades 1-5
-Field trips for every class, every grade - includes entry costs and bus expenses
-Water for the portable classroom and Teacher's Lounge
-A $50 per teacher grant for classroom start-up supplies
-Back-to-School Rootbeer Float Social, community building event
-Printing for the School Directory
-Spirit Wear Turkey Trot T-shirts for every child, teacher, and staff member
-Liability Insurance
-Hand sanitizer for all-school use
-Staff appreciation events such as the Book Fair Breakfast
Our students benefit immensely from your support.
Without your help, we would not be able to achieve all of this for our school. Thank you for your support!
