The third and final scholarship facilitated by the Longmont High School Education Foundation is the Gordon Cramer Award. This award and scholarship is in honor of the late Gordon Cramer, a long time very successful and well loved football coach at LHS. It is presented to one male and one female graduating senior that exhibit extraordinary athletics, academics, character, and community involvement. Athletes are nominated by their coaches and a selection committee selects the winners. Please join us in congratulating this years winners, Luna Ready and Mason Hendricks!

Luna Ready was a 4-year, 3-sport athlete (Volleyball, Soccer and Basketball). She lettered a total of 8 times. She was All-Conference in Basketball, a 2-time Honorable Mention in Volleyball, and Honorable Mention in Soccer (and is part of the currently undefeated girls soccer team!). She made Academic All-State at every opportunity (6 times) and holds a 4.5+ GPA. Her coaches spoke very highly of her character and involvement in athletics and other school and community activities.

Mason Hendricks was a 3-sport athlete (Track, Football, Basketball) and lettered a total of 4 times. He made All-State in Track placing third at the 2025 State Championship in the high-jump as well as All-Conference twice with the remainder of the 2026 season still pending. He was Academic All-State in Track and holds a 4.5+ GPA. His coaches also spoke highly of his character and community involvement.

Please join us in congratulating Julio Morales, the inaugural winner of the Paul Rodriguez Scholarship!

The Selection Committee stated that Julio is a young man of strong character, compassion, and exceptional leadership potential. His contributions to Longmont High School have firmly established him as a leader within his community.

We at the Longmont High School Education Foundation are honored to partner with The Ameritino Foundation to launch this scholarship in honor of Paul Rodriguez. Paul attended Longmont High School but did not have the opportunity to graduate before answering his country's call to duty serving as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division and received a posthumous promotion after his death on April 5, 1966 in South Vietnam. The scholarship honors Paul's bravery, service and memory with a scholarship for a LHS student who exemplifies academic dedication, leadership and community service. Congratulations Julio!

Please join us in congratulating the 2026 Yvonne M King Memorial Nursing Scholarship winner, Hannah Wheaton!

Hannah will be attending CU Boulder studying integrative physiology with the ultimate goal of attending nursing school and becoming a labor and delivery nurse. While at LHS she has been a part of MBSA, NHS, Blue Crew, Sources of Strength, and both the girls soccer and volleyball teams.

The selection committee said that they were struck by Hannah’s essay and how beautifully she captured what nursing really is. It is not just treating a condition, but caring for the whole person and walking with them through both the hardest and most joyful moments. Her description of witnessing the power of a nurse’s presence and the trust that develops between a nurse and a patient reflects exactly the kind of heart Yvonne M King believed defined this profession. Hannah will be a wonderful nurse someday.

Congrats Hannah!
