Underneath all that firefighter gear is a friend.

Today, our local firefighters and paramedics visited our preschoolers for Fire Prevention Week!

Paramedic Chad Kilcreas read a dinosaur story with a fire safety lesson and a little humor: “Remind me never to have tea with a dinosaur!”

Paramedic Caitlin Riggs taught our youngest Pumas to “Get out now!” She also answered questions and listened to their stories. Preschoolers always have a few to share!

And guess who showed up again? CHASE!

Firefighter Chase showed students how he puts on his protective gear. All that equipment can look scary when you’re little, but watching him put it on helped them understand: underneath the mask is still their friend Chase, ready to help.

These visits build trust. Our children get to know the people who come to help, one story, one question, and one familiar face at a time.

A special thank you to Ms. Sasha, Fire Life Safety Educator, who always helps make this happen. From our CPR trainings to stopping by because she misses us, we'd like to think💚, we’re always happy to see her. We think she just needs an excuse to visit her Pumas!

A little thank you from our students to our first responders!

From coming out to have fun with us at our Fall Festival to helping keep us safe during our helicopter visit, thank you for being there! Whether you’re reading to our students, helping us with our safety drills, or looking out for us when there’s a safety concern nearby, we appreciate everything you do.

Thank you for taking the time to say hi, answer questions, and get to know our kids. It means so much for them to know the people who help take care of our community. And they had a few things they wanted to say to you, too!

To Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District , and all of our first responders, thank you for taking care of us! We’re so glad to have you in our community!

Thank you all for showing Ms. Norma and Mr. George so much love on Friday for National Custodian Day! We didn’t get a picture of all the goodies and cards from students and staff, but please know how much they meant to them!

Ms. Norma told us she read every single card the students wrote. She loved it all and said these little things remind her that she is cared for. She also shared how much she loved being called over with Mr. George by Ms. Gonzales’s class. The students cheering and thanking them made her feel extra special!

Thank you, Ms. Norma and Mr. George, for taking care of our school and all of us! Let’s keep showing them some love whenever we see them. A hello and a quick “thank you” can go a long way, any day of the year!

WOW! It’s already been almost a week since our Fall Festival! Thank you all so much for coming out, having fun, and supporting our school!

A HUGE thank-you to our Puma Pride PTA for the countless hours spent planning, setting up, and taking care of all the behind-the-scenes details. You helped make this such a great event!

Thank you to our sponsors for your generosity and to our volunteers and staff for giving your time and helping it all come together. We appreciate every helping hand!

We hope you had as much fun as our students did! Pieing a teacher in the face, getting covered in whipped cream, asking for “Just ONE more game before we leave!” or spotting a friend and running over to say hi. Seeing those smiles and hearing that laughter made the evening one to remember.

And between all the fun were the familiar faces. The teachers who know you and your children by name. A former teacher excited to see how much your child has grown. The staff you see every day. Other parents stopping to catch up while the kids played.

That’s what makes nights like this so special. Our school community gets to spend time together, make memories, and enjoy the connections that grow beyond the classroom.

Talk about taking learning to new heights!

Yesterday was such a cool experience for our students! They watched a Colorado National Guard helicopter land at Mountain Shadows Park, met the crew, and got a closer look at the helicopter. Definitely not your everyday school day!

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Dan Bentley also had our students promise to never, ever, ever, ever, EVER do drugs! DEA agents gave our students a short talk about the dangers of drugs and making smart choices. Important messages to go along with a day they’ll remember!

We also had a surprise visit from former Denver Nuggets player and assistant coach Mark Randall! He talked with our students about making good decisions and staying drug free. How cool is that?!

There were so many people working behind the scenes, and we want to give them a HUGE thank-you!

• Chief Warrant Officer 3 Sara Schnabel, one of our own FCA parents, brought this opportunity to us and helped the whole way through. She was also aboard the helicopter! How cool for our young ladies to see!
• Technical Sergeant James Beedle helped coordinate the event and bring everything together.
• Chief Warrant Officer 3 Dan Bentley and the crew shared their time and gave our very excited students a closer look at the helicopter.
• John Damsma helped secure access to the park so this could happen.
• Kacie Lott helped with the permitting and planning.

And a HUGE thank you to our parents for making sure those permission slips got turned in, one way or another! We appreciate you helping make this experience possible for our students!

Thank you to the Colorado National Guard, the DEA agents, the Denver Nuggets, Mark Randall, and everyone who helped make this day possible. We appreciate all the time and effort you put into giving our students this experience!

Today is National PTA Appreciation Day, and we couldn't let it pass without celebrating the incredible ladies behind our Puma Pride PTA at Firestone Charter Academy ! 💚

Their titles only tell a tiny part of the story. These ladies give countless hours to our school, planning events, fundraising, volunteering, organizing, problem solving, and doing so much behind the scenes to make special things happen for our students and families. From last night's Fall Festival to the Book Fair and everything in between, so many of the things our families enjoy happen because of the time and heart they put into our school.

We see how hard you work, ladies, and we appreciate you! 💚

Mrs. Arnold’s class floated to the top!

After earning root b**r floats through their Fun Run and Color Run fundraising, these students enjoyed every last sip. Let’s just say, one float was definitely not enough for some of them!
