This week, our students and staff are participating in Safety Week as we practice the important drills that help keep our school community prepared and safe.
Throughout the week, we are reviewing and practicing procedures for situations such as fire drills, lockdowns, and other emergencies. These drills are conducted in an age-appropriate, calm, and thoughtful way so that students know what to do, where to go, and—most importantly—how to listen to and follow the directions of the adults caring for them.
Just like we practice academics, athletics, and performances, we practice safety so that the right actions become familiar when they matter most.
We are grateful for our teachers and staff who take the responsibility of student safety so seriously—and for our students who are learning that being prepared is one way we care for one another. St. Michael, pray for us and keep our school community safe.
