There’s a particular kind of tired that has nothing to do with how much sleep you got.

It’s the exhaustion of maintaining a facade. Of showing up as the version of yourself that was built around other people’s comfort. Their expectations. Their idea of who you should be and how much space you’re allowed to take up.

Most of us built that version so gradually we didn’t even notice it happening. A little less of this. A little more of that. Until one day you look up and realize the life you’re living fits someone else’s blueprint.

Authenticity isn’t about being louder or more visible. It’s about the quiet, courageous act of stopping the performance. Letting what’s actually true about you take up its rightful space.

That’s not selfish. That’s sovereign.

The energy you spend maintaining who you’re not is energy that belongs to who you actually are.

Stacy’s story here is deeply personal, but the question underneath it is something many of us will face at some point.

When someone we love is suffering, how do we separate what we want from what they need?

Our attachment can make that incredibly difficult.

We want more time. We want another option. We want to hold on.

For Stacy, it took listening differently; moving beyond her own heartbreak and connecting with what she felt her beloved dog was asking of her.

And once she did, she was able to give him the goodbye that felt right for him: at home, surrounded by the people who loved him.
