Target is voluntarily recalling Up & Up Fragrance Free and Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes following customer complaints of product discoloration, and FDA testing that identified the presence of Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli in product samples.

Use of products contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioi may result in serious and life-threatening infections. The products are predominantly used on newborns, infants, and young children, who are particularly vulnerable to opportunistic infection due to their immature immune systems.

Target está retirando voluntariamente del mercado las toallitas para bebé Up & Up sin fragancia y Up & Up con aroma a pepino fresco. Esto se debe a que algunos clientes reportaron que las toallitas cambiaron de color, y pruebas de la FDA encontraron bacterias llamadas Burkholderia cepacia complex y Burkholderia gladioli en algunas muestras.

El uso de toallitas contaminadas con estas bacterias puede causar infecciones graves o potencialmente mortales. Estas toallitas se usan principalmente en recién nacidos, bebés y niños pequeños, quienes tienen un mayor riesgo porque su sistema inmunológico aún no está completamente desarrollado.
