Our kiddos are loving Science with Sue, an enrichment time that older toddlers and preschoolers enjoy on Friday mornings. A few weeks ago, Ms. Sue talked about volcanoes and made a super cool volcano inside of an apple. Needless to say, the kids were mesmerized! You never know what future scientists are in the classroom!

TLC preschool teacher, Lupe Morales, has been a sure and steady presence at TLC since first stared workin here 20 years ago. Ms. Lupe goes out of her way to make sure that all of her students feel happy, safe, and loved! Thanks to Ms. Lupe for all of the love, compassion, and effort you have given and continue to give to TLC's families and staff. WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU!.

TLC Pres./CEO, Matt Eldred, spotted this adorable swan pumpkin in Nebraska last weekend, and immediately thought of our very own Lady Swan, Lila Jean Stewart.

This little swan now has a place at the front desk, greeting families as we welcome the fall season at TLC. It also feels like a fitting reminder of the legacy of Lila Jean, our self-proclaimed “Lady Swan,” whose feathers can still be found throughout Longmont.

From the Swan Atrium at the Longmont Museum, to the Red Hat Society Smart Car making appearances at the parade and around town, to the Stewart Family Campus—home to TLC Learning Center and the TLC Early Learning Collaborative—Lila Jean’s spirit continues to be woven into our community.

As we enter the giving season, it’s not too late to be part of the TLC Capital Campaign. Together, we are working toward our $17 million goal to create the new TLC Early Learning Collaborative and expand opportunities for children and families in our community.

Day by day, the TLC Early Learning Collaborative adds more and more organizations to a growing list of community partners. Wednesday was a perfect example of this, with the Colorado Competitive Council, Dawson School 2nd Graders, and the Boulder Optimist Luncheon Club all visiting our Center in the name of affecting change and giving back to the community!

We started the day with a visit from the Colorado Competitive Council (C3), an arm of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce that aims to make positive impacts in the Denver Metro area by connecting legislators with local business owners and non-profits. TLC was the first stop on C3's visit to the Longmont district, where they learned about TLC's history and the work we do, followed by a tour of our new facility. A big hanks to Senator Katie Wallace for inviting C3 to TLC!

While that was going on, toddler and preschool students kicked off a new year of partnering with their 2nd Grade Buddies from Dawson School, spending the morning working on murals, reading together, and playing outside. Our Buddies will be back three more times before the school year is over, ensuring that these mixed-age friends will have lots of opportunities to learn from each other and grow together. Stay tuned for pictures from these fun meetups!

At lunchtime, we were excited to host the Boulder Luncheon Optimists for a lunch meeting and tour of the Early Learning Collaborative. These folks are getting things done and working hard to support youth development in our community. Thank you for the positive impact you make, BLO!!

During our special author visit with Brenna Jeanneret on September 23, our kids got creative and made their very own license plates! 📚 It was so much fun seeing their imaginations come to life as they designed and personalized their plates.
