Start this week with a Mugs Monday. On this dreary overcast day in NYC, this mug festooned with a sleeping curled up cat by Kim To, is PURRRFECT. While we might wish we were still sleeping like the cat on the mug, alas it is a new week and time to seize the day. This is still a very cute mug for your morning coffee or tea!

Here is one of 3 works by student Ali Lasky, that will be featured in the LIC-A Members Show at The LICA Art Space at The Factory located at 30-30 47th Avenue in LIC, Queens. The show opens on August 19th, 2026 from 5-8pm. This exhibition runs until September 26th. Being an artist is often a solitary endeavour. Artists do collaborate from time to time, sometimes pushing an artist's own work in a new direction. Often the collaboration creates wonderful and surprising results. We are sharing a few images of a collaboration between handbuilding teacher extraordinaire, Rosanne Ebner, and fabulous associate artist, Nancy Bruno, and . We can't wait to see and share the finished sculpture!

A new month, a new artist of the month in our shop! We are featuring long time Brickhouse favourite associate, Marcie Kesner, as our artist of month for this beautiful summer month of August! Featured here are some of Marcie's trademark leafy stencil pieces. They are iconic, one of a kind and beautifully and masterfully handbuilt! These striking vessels look fabulous as a statement piece on their own or with some of summer's lovely floral bounty. If you don't already own one of these gorgeous pieces what are you waiting for!? We are loving this medley of blues and grays of the new work by associate artist Fernanda Riberio ! What a gorgeous still life, Fernanda!

Animal, Vegetable, Mineral? It's a Blorbo! Just one of the many creepy, whimsical objects, pedestals and other related goofy, playful forms that associate artist Sheila Ross aka has been working on since spring 2026. Seen here is a wall mountable Blorbo perched on a wall mountable pedestal Blorbo. Blorbo will be an installation of an army of small, medium and large Blorbos coming to a LIC gallery SOON. Studio Assistant Alina Smirnova is making lots of cool bud vases and vessels embellished with the female form. We love how she throws these pots really works well with the female figurative elements she amplifies and adds to them. The glaze results are pretty great too!

It is a Tuesday twofer! Two beautifully glazed vases by associate artist, Roberta Bergofin, ! Fun fact. Roberta is trying out a new studio clay we will start using soon. Our studio glazes look great on these vessels!

Associate artist Vivian Lee, has been working hard in the studio this summer. We love the interaction and contrast between the organic forms of this sculpture and the glazed geometric surface elements.
